College of Medical and Health Care: Introduction and History

       Since 1967, when Dr. Yulin Wang established the HungKuang Vocational School of Nursing, the Department of Medicine and Nursing has been part of the school’s foundation. In 2003, the school was renamed HungKuang University of Technology, and in 2004 the College of Medicine and Nursing was established. The college had four departments and three institutes: Conservation Division, the Department of Nursing, the Department of Biotechnology, the Department of Physical Therapy, the Department of Nutrition, the Graduate Institute of Nursing, the Graduate Institute of Biotechnology, and the Graduate Institute of Biomedical Nutrition.

      In 2017, with the development of healthcare as the core, the College of Medical and Health Care is established under the goal of cultivating health care talents, strengthening research and development of industry and academia, and deep plowing biomedical, health and welfare industries. The college currently has seven departments, one Bachelor Program and three institutes. There are the Department of Physical Therapy, Department of Biotechnology (Graduate Institute), Department of Nutrition (Graduate Institute), Department of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, Bachelor Program in Animal Healthcare, Department of Senior Citizen Welfare and Long-term Care Business(Graduate Institute), Department of Health Business Administration, Department of Computer Science and Information Management.

The educational goals of the college are

  1. Strengthen students' humanistic quality and health care

  2. Lay the foundation of students' medical and health care knowledge

  3. Cultivate medical and health application professionals with both theory and practice
